A Heartbreaking Three Years To our community, We’ve been silent on our website for the past three years, and for that, I apologize. The reason is not neglect but profound psychological hardship. The losses we’ve endured have been devastating, and I share this update with a heavy heart to explain our absence and renew our commitment to Achaia’s animals. Of the many dogs we cared for, only five remain. The others—over 30—have been lost to horrific acts of cruelty: Eighteen dogs were poisoned in a single incident three years ago by an individual driving a grey Toyota Corolla with a fake license plate. Despite reporting this to the newly elected mayor, no suspect has been apprehended. Seven more were poisoned during Achaia’s potato crop season. We believe local farmers, protecting their fields, may be responsible. I urge our community to consider boycotting Achaia’s potato farmers until accountability is ensured. Six others were brutally killed, likely by local residents. These acts reflect a persistent mindset in some rural areas that views strays as threats rather than lives deserving compassion. Despite these tragedies, our mission continues. We will respond to every call for help, as we always have. I currently fund all care for our dogs and cats personally and prefer to keep it that way for now—no donations are needed, but your support through awareness is invaluable. To the Municipality of Achaia: one word—ΛΥΠΑΜΑΙ (I pity). Your inaction has allowed these tragedies to persist. I call on Achaia’s animal lovers to vote for leaders who prioritize compassion and enforce animal welfare laws. We press on for the five survivors and the countless strays still suffering. Thank you for standing with us. With resolve, [Your Name]
